Some of them had been found while excavating for the new building premises. It’s simplicity is actually the most attractive factor. The college has got a beautiful history, there was a time when the college authorities had no money to pay the teachers, so the teachers were actually paying to the college for its functioning, and likewise, the huge campus was built as a result of the love and dedication of some of the eminent professors. And today each of the blocks in the campus has been named after them. Not only the atmosphere, but even the college students and teachers are noble yet with modern beliefs.
This college has got the best library with enormous number of books from various era. Talking about UC, how can someone forget about the very beloved CC and BBC, which are the favorite spot for the students to hangout and even for the lovers for some pretty talks. Each corner of the college has got a story of its own with its own unique trees which blossoms at different seasons. In some areas it is the month of December, while in other, it will be July. The famous farewell tree is one among them which usually blossom at the time of farewell. It’s believed that the tree was brought by one of the ex-teachers somewhere from outside India. Not only that there are many other trees been planted which were brought from different parts of the world and that’s what makes it more distinct. Another main attraction is the mango tree planted by Mahatma Gandhi during his visit to Kerala which is now highlighted before the administrative block.
The whole campus tour would take you more than a day, so big is the area. Two of the sports hostels both for girls and boys have been in the campus premises only. There are even quarters for the teachers inside the campus. The principal of the college has also got a special quarter near the Administrative block.
